Snetterton Race Report

After a long break for the road racing at nw200 and Isle of Man TT where we lost our very own team mate Dan Kneen, our thoughts go out to his family, partner Leanne and all his friends.

Coming into Round 4 at Snetterton in Norfolk, we were really looking forward to this one as I enjoy the track aswell as having good experiences this past few years. Throughout all the sessions we were having little niggly issues, nothing serious but just ones to not give me the confidence to open the throttle as early as I would have liked out of the slower corners. Qualifying didn’t quite go to plan as got caught in slower riders in the last sector, which left us 5th on grid for race. However that’s how it goes sometimes, but with this we were still quietly confident as had good race pace.

For the race we got a terrible start (my fault) due to being to eager and not having patience. This was only the start of it, then on exit of turn 3 Chrisy Rouse high sided which meant I had to take to the grass to avoid him putting me back to 24th position. I knew I had a fight on my hands to get back to the front but I pushed from that very second to the finish line for a 4th position at the end, only dropping 7 more points to Championship leader Billy McConnell who finished 2nd and a brilliant win for Joe Collier who I sit 5 points behind in the championship battle. Very damage limitational weekend for us considering we could of ended up on our ass aswell when I was sent grass tracking but we managed to come out unscathed with decentish points. Roll on knockhill for Round 5.

Massive thank you to my Tyco BMW TAS Racing Team who put in a tremendous effort this weekend to get me comfortable on the bike and never stopped trying, thank you to all team sponsors, my personal sponsors and everyone who got behind us all, thank you.
