Brands Hatch Race Report

After coming away from Knockhill with confidence on a high after topping every session and two race wins, we were coming into brands hatch with chest pumped and ready to fight for my fourth title. During the course of the weekend, we knew it was going to be tough as we were struggling in areas and others looked to have good strong pace, qualifying came and we ended up 2nd which was perfect as a good front row start.

Race 1 was a 100 miler, with it being 2parts we knew we had to finish the first part to get good points in the 2nd part, we had a tough 1st part as I was struggling with bits and pieces but we managed 2nd to Joe Collier as Billy McConnell crashed out. Knowing this we knew we could put some solid points on the table and stretch our championship lead out, but it wasn’t to be, we had a mechanical that sent me in the kitty litter. Day over and loss of championship lead as Joe won the 2nd part as well for maximum points.

Sunday was a new day, we made a plan and went and had some fun on my bike! We were unlucky to come away without the win as I was just getting into my stride as the race was coming to a close but unfortunately for Joe, he went down and with us finishing 2nd to Billy we managed to grab championship lead by 13points again.

This weekend we are at Thruxton, Andover, a track I like and had some great success there so hopefully we can try to get back to the top of the box for a maximum 25 points.
